Solar Panels

Henfield residents and other users may not know that our hall was the first public building in Henfield to have solar panels installed on our roof in February 2022! This helps supports our action against climate change by providing clean and environmentally sound energy and reducing energy costs saving the hall money. That also helps us keep the costs for users down!

An excess power diverter helps heat our hot water and we are also now able to receive payment for any exported power, further reducing running costs. Next, we intend to install batteries to store surplus power to be used whenever the panels are not producing, such as evening or early morning. This will hopefully reduce bought-in energy costs even further.

As Trustees we are extremely grateful to, and thank the sponsoring organisations for their confidence, support and generosity in backing our solar energy project throughout its development.
